FORMER University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancer Randy Dela Pisa proved too much to handle inside the paint as the Eagles pummeled the Tigers, 89-78, in the knockout quarterfinals of the Elite Basketball Club Cebu-Season 14 at the Visayas Glass Gym in Guadalupe on May 17.

Dela Pisa piled up 34 points to lead the top-seeded Eagles to a convincing 11-point win over the No. 8 Tigers.

The Eagles will move on to the semifinals and will face a dangerous opponent in the Rams, which pulled off a 65-62 stunner over the many-time champion Panthers the other week.

Dela Pisa has been a consistent scorer for the Eagles even in the elimination round, when the team soared to the top of the team standings with 7-2 (win-loss) slate.

In the other game, the third-seeded Sharks figured in a close battle before beating the sixth-seeded Wolves, 85-83, in the separate quarterfinals match.

The Sharks bagged the last ticket to the semis with RV Dolloso scoring a team-high 19 points. (RSC)
