AFTER testing positive for Covid-19, Filipino-American warrior Mark Striegl finally makes his UFC debut on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020.

Striegl is fighting Russian Saud Nurmagomedov in the undercard of UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. Jung at the UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The 32-year-old Striegl was supposed to fight Russian Timur Valliev on Aug. 22. But unfortunately, he tested positive for Covid-19 on fight week and had to pull out of the fight.

Striegl has been one of the Philippines’ top MMA talents for years. He has dominated the Asian circuit and has only lost twice, one to Fil-Aussie Reece McLaren in the ONE Championship in 2015 and the other to Jang Yong Kim in the PXC in 2013.

Striegl is on a four-fight winning streak and is coming off a first round guillotine choke of Do Gyeom Lee in the URCC.

Striegl is a submission specialist with 14 submission victories.

Nurmagomedov, on the other hand, is no stranger to the UFC limelight. He has already fought in UFC three times and is 2-1 inside the Octagon.

The 28-year-old Nurmagomedov beat Justin Scoggins and Ricardo Ramos in his first two UFC fights and lost to Raoni Barcelos last Dec. 21, 2019.

Striegl is 18-2, while Nurmagomedov is 13-2. (EKA)
