Lions beat Pioneers in Tanduay e-league

THE Dreamscape Lions roared its loudest this season after it took down the defending champions Sykes Pioneers, 89-80, in the Elite Classic Division of the Tanduay Athletics E-League for Basketball Season 15 at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Former University of the Visayas wingman Matt Oche and Ralph “The Lion King” Belarmino had fantastic games, as the former piled up 27 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, six steals and a block, while the latter came way with 19 markers, 13 boards, five assists and three steals.

More importantly, the win was Dreamscape’s third in a row to place their record at 7-5.

The loss snapped Sykes' two-game win run and fell to 10-3. Janjan Auditor, who was coming off back-to-back 50-point games, led the Pioneers with 35 points.

Meanwhile, the Accenture Sharks kept its grip of the top spot with a 97-86 slaying of the Fusion BPO Services Dragons. Alden Batino carried the Sharks on his shoulders by finishing with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, four blocks and an assist.

Edsun Tabar added 16 points, Clarence Torre donated 12 and Jeanne Perez contributed 10 as the Sharks improved to 11-1.

The Concentrix Converters, on the other hand, picked up their seventh win in 13 games courtesy of a 104-86 thrashing of the Wipro Tigers. Six players scored in double figures for Concentrix led by the 19-point showing of Gio Antigua.

In the other Elite Classic match, the QBE Generals kept the ePerformax Reds winless via an 83-71 decision. Collecting just their second win in 11 games, the Generals were led by Johnrey Girasol's 15 points.

In the lone EVO League match, Fluor improved to 8-4 by defeating Shearwater, 73-54.
