Maharlika FC welcomes Verley into fold

Sunnexdesk

FLEDGLING club Maharlika FC picked up yet another player from suspended club Global FC after signing Fil-Brit Peter Varley for the upcoming Philippines Football League (PFL) season.

Varley comes in as a huge boost for the team as a young winger with experience from playing in Thailand with Siam FC in the Thai League 4.

The 23-year-old Varley signed with Global FC early this year but the club had financial troubles and was unable to pay its players and staff their wages, which led to the suspension of its pro license by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).

Varley joins the likes of former Global FC players Jerry Barbaso, David Basa, Charlie Beaton, Anton del Rosario, Misagh Bahadoran and Serge Kaole.

Others that are with the team are Simon Greatwich, Daniel Matsunaga, Sam Taylor, Cedric Martinez-Hodreal and Spanish defender Joaquin Cañas. The team is coached by former Azkal player Dorlas. (EKA)
