Magnolia’s veteran forward Marc Pingris will not be playing for the Hotshots in the restart of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) because of a nagging calf injury.

The news was delivered by Pingris himself in a post on Instagram where he said, ““Good luck guys! Sorry, hindi makakasama kuya niyo ngayon. Babawi ako next time promise yan. Good luck sa lahat ng teams. God bless! Go PBA.”

The 38-year old big man did not play in the Magnolia’s first game of the season which ended in a resounding 94-78 loss to the reigning champions San Miguel Beermen. Pingris played in the 2019 Governors’ Cup after missing time because of an injury to his ACL.

Pingris is the latest player to announce that he is missing the PBA “bubble” after NLEX’s Larry Fonacier and San Miguel’s Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, both of whom cited personal reasons. NorthPort star Robert Bolick will not be playing as well as team doctors deemed it too soon to put him back in harness after suffering an ACL injury. (JNP)
