ENDURANCE swimmer Ingemar “Pinoy Aquaman” Macarine will attempt to complete a 10-kilometer swim in Lake Michigan in the United States on Monday (PH time).

The 46-year-old Associate Provincial Prosecutor of the Department of Justice (DOJ) will be joined by two other Filipino-American multisports enthusiasts, Rey Letada and Nick Regorgo.

Macarine, who’s earned the nickname “Pinoy Aquaman” for his numerous open water swims here and abroad, said that he’s excited after years of hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

With his new diet and nutrition, Macarine has managed to keep pounds off.

“I’m a vegetarian now. And zero alcohol for the last five years,” he said.

As part of his preparation for the open water swim, Macarine joined the 5i50 Triathlon in Bohol last July 10 and a half-marathon race in New York on July 16.
