“MAGIC” Mike Plania and Romero Duno are seeing action in activity fights on Aug. 20, 2021 in Miami, Florida, USA.

Both Plania and Duno are fighting eight-rounders against yet-to-be-determined opponents.

“The opponents aren’t final yet, but they will have fights,” Sanman Promotions CEO JC Manangquil, who handles both fighters, told SunStar Cebu.

Since his win over Joshua Greer Jr. in 2020, Plania has only fought once. He scored a six-round unanimous decision over Emmnuel Mogawa in Gen. Santos City on April 30, 2021.

The 24-year-old Plania is currently rated No. 4 by the World Boxing Association, No. 5 by the World Boxing Organization, No. 9 by the International Boxing Federation and No. 15 by the World Boxing Council.

“We just want to stay active, while waiting for an opportunity to come,” said Manangquil.

Plania is 25-1 with 12 knockouts.

Meanwhile, Duno has not fought for 17 months. His last fight was a first-round knockout of Angelito Merin on Feb. 29, 2020 in Gen. Santos City.

This is Duno’s first fight back in the US since his first-round knockout in the hands of American rising star Ryan Garcia in 2019.

The 25-year-old Duno is 22-2 with 17 knockouts. (EKA)
