THE San Miguel Beermen bounced back from their opening day loss with a 110-93 rout of the NLEX Road Warriors in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

CJ Perez, last year’s scoring champion who was acquired by the Beermen in the offseason, scored 15 of his 21 points in the first half as San Miguel took a 61-44 lead after the first two quarters of play. The Beermen would not be threatened in the second half as they cruised to the win and equalized their win-loss record at 1-1.

Alex Cabagnot contributed 17 points while Mo Tautuaa came off the bench and added 16 points and nine rebounds. Cebuano big man June Mar Fajardo, who was playing in just his second game after a long 17-month layoff due to a leg injury, tallied a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Kevin Alas scored 20 points to lead the way for NLEX, while Kiefer Ravena added 16 points and seven assists. The Road Warriors fell to 1-2. (JNP)
