INTERIM World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight champion Jhack Tepora has reunited with his brothers and trainers Jingjing and Christopher “Ping-Ping” Tepora for his upcoming title defense next year.

“This will be a great tandem that the three Tepora brothers are once again reunited,” said Jingjing, who’ll be Jhack’s main trainer.

Jhack got disappointed after his brothers were cut from the Omega Boxing Gym despite his success under their tutelage. Because of that, he decided to reunite with his brothers, training at both the Big Yellow Gym and the Gladiator Fitness Gym.

Christopher was first to lose his coaching job at the Omega Boxing Gym. He, however, quickly got a head coaching stint at the Big Yellow Gym in Talisay City. Jingjing followed suit but also quickly got a job as one of Japanese star Tomoki Kameda’s trainers.

Jhack already started his training camp two weeks ago. He also started sparring against fellow unbeaten pug Allan Villanueva.

“My sparring was good. I just got a little winded,” said the 23-year-old Tepora.

Jhack last saw action in July as one of Manny Pacquiao’s undercards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He scored a huge ninth round stoppage over Edivaldo Ortega to win the interim WBA featherweight crown.

Jhack, 22-0 with 17 knockouts, said he’ll be seeing action in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Adrian Broner fight on Jan. 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. His opponent is yet to be determined.

Jingjing has learned a lot from his experience as a trainer in Japan. He said he’ll bring the same regimen he had with Kameda in his fight preparation for Abigail Medina. (EKA)
