Toledo City hosts road, m’bike race

SOME of Cebu’s top mountainbikers and enthusiasts will test their mettle in the fourth edition of Race for Nilo Barbalose/ Race for Jocelyn Miller in Toledo City, Cebu on Sunday, Dec. 16.

The annual event will feature the MTB competition and the Road Bike race. The MTB and Road Bike competitions will have five categories each.

Titles at stake in the MTB competition are the open/pro, women’s, junior boys for 18-Under, men’s 40-49 and 50-Above. The Road Bike race will have the open/pro, junior boys, men’s 19-29, men’s 30-39, women’s Under-18 and women’s 19-39 for the Road Bike race.

The event will shell out a total of P240,000 cash prizes which will be divided among the winners in every division.

Some of the young guns who are joining the race are Philippine National Games (PNG) gold medalist Pamela Jane Ruiz of Keith DeFiebre Cycling Team, Moira Frances Erediano and Karen Manayon of Rider Omega Tri Team.

The MTB competition will cover a total of 16 laps, while the open division of the Road Race will have 18 laps. RSC
