USC, Ateneo dominate Cesafi swimming

THE University of San Carlos (USC) and the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles shared the limelight in the 2019 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) swimming event, which concluded on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at the Cebu City Sports Center swimming pool.

USC racked up a total of 24 gold medals, 20 silver medals and eight bronze medals to win the overall crown in the college division. USC’s men’s team contributed 12 gold medals, nine silvers and four bronzes and the women’s team chipped in 12 gold medals, 11 silvers and four bronzes.

SHS-AdC finished second with 5-4-5 gold-silver-bronze medal haul and the University of the Visayas settled for third place 3-4-6 medal output.

The Grade 12 students competed in the tertiary division.

It was a reversal of roles in the secondary division as the SHS-AdC took control, winning the overall title with 22 gold medals, 19 silvers and five bronzes over the USC, which accumulated 10 gold medals, seven silvers and 19 bronzes.

University of Cebu bagged third overall with eight gold medals, 14 silver medals and 16 bronze medals.
