UNBEATEN world-ranked light flyweight Mark Vicelles looks to keep his unbeaten streak alive as he takes on veteran Jaysever Abcede in the 10-round main event of Omega Sports Promotions’ “Kumbati 13” show on June 17, 2022 at the Parkmall in Mandaue City, Cebu.

Vicelles is closing in on a world title shot and is just waiting to be given an offer.

Vicelles is currently ranked No. 2 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), No. 4 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF), No. 4 by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and No. 12 by the World Boxing Association (WBA).

He just needs to keep winning if he wants to maintain his lofty rankings and earn a world title shot.

Vicelles is coming off an easy first round technical knockout win of former world title challenger Richard Claveras, who he dropped twice, in March in Mandaue City.

Abcede, in the meantime, is also fresh from a victory. He stopped Jay R Tulinan also in March in Misamis Oriental.

Abcede is ranked No. 21 by the WBC. He owns a win over one-world title contender Yuthanna Kaensa and lost to Thai stars Wanheng Menayothin and Panya Pradabsri.

On the other hand, Christian Araneta is up against former world title challenger Toto Landero in the 10-round co-main feature.

Like his teammate Vicelles, Araneta is also ranked in the light flyweight division. He’s ranked No. 5 by the IBF and No. 18 by the WBC. Araneta, 27, won back-to-back fights with first round stoppage victories over Richard Claveras and Arnold Garde.

Landero is in a slump, losing his last three contests against Vicelles, Melvin Jerusalem and Tibo Monabesa.

In the undercard, Benny Cañete (5-0, 4 KOs) trades leathers with Mark Glen Antaran (4-4-3, 3 KOs), Franco Serafica (8-1, 4 KOs) locks horns with Remon Basas (6-7, 4 KOs), Carlo Bacaro (8-0, 6 KOs) slugs it out with Jimmy Borbon (7-10-4, 4 KOs) and Ramil Roda (0-0-1) guns for his first pro win as fights Norman Rusiana (0-2-1).
