Young guns dominate Dumaguete Triathlon

CEBUANO triathletes Moira Frances Erediano and Karen Manayon shone brightly in the 2022 Dumaguete City Triathlon with a 1-2 finish in the women’s standard distance race on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at the Rizal Boulevard in Dumaguete City.

Erediano was the first female to finish the 1.5-kilometer swim, 40K bike and 10K run route, breasting the tape in 2 hours, 15 minutes and 14 seconds to win the women’s overall crown.

Manayon of Talisay City crossed the finish line at 2:17:23 and secured the 1-2 podium finish for the Cebu delegation.

Ines Santiago clocked in 2:27:18 and rounded up the women’s overall Top 3.

Emil Lobres won the men’s overall title with a time of 2:02:59. Cebu triathlete Renz Wynn Corbin came in second at 2:06:09 while Bohol’s Emmanuel Comendador settled third at 2:08:48.

Cebuanos also made their presence felt in the age group. Kristiane Lim won the men’s 35-39 class in 2:17:21 and Cianyl Gonzales topped the women’s 25-29 division in 2:42:49.
