City tourism to launch website

THE Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) is set to launch this month its own website to better guide and promote the city to both domestic and international tourists visiting the city.

CTOO officer-in-charge Generose Tecson said in an interview Tuesday morning, November 13, that the website will serve as the city’s online guide.

“Everybody is going online, digital now. This is necessary to further boost our tourism industry here (Davao City),” she said.

The CTOO’s website will be developed by Infosoft Studio.

The website, apart from its usual features like a “where to” directory – where to eat, stay, visit - will also be available in four foreign languages: Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, and Korean.

“I am still negotiating with the developer that if possible for Chinese translations, they will include the traditional Chinese language because it is commonly used by the tourists based in Hong Kong,” she said.

This would be helpful for tourists from Hong Kong. Last month, Cathay Dragon launched its direct flight between Davao City and Hong Kong.

Social media posts with hashtags #DavaoLifeIsHere will also appear on the website. CTOO has yet to announce the official website address.
