THIS year’s Davao Agri Trade Expo (Date) will focus in empowering the upland farmers and other local farmers in Mindanao.

Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporated (DCCCII) vice president and DATE chairman John Carlo Tria said the local farmers in the upland are vital in giving a large share in the trade process in Mindanao.

“For this year’s program the local farmers in the upland are very much given attention in three-day conference as part of our goal in giving a much more inclusive vision for the development of agriculture in Mindanao,” Tria said on Wednesday, September 05, 2018 during a media forum at Habi at Kape in Abreeza Malls, Davao City.

With the potential Mindanao has in agriculture, Tria said farmers will be more knowledgeable on different farming techniques through the Date 2018.

“When this translates into increasing their income, then this also means an increase for the economic activity in the city and even in the region,” Tria said.

Tria also said the Date 2018 on September 20 to 22 will give free technical seminars and agribusiness innovation conferences in order to give latest updates on the current trends in agriculture.

“We would also be giving conferences on food security and infrastructure in order to assist businesses who venture in food manufacturing,” Tria said.
