EMPLOYEES’ Day – it’s one of the most-anticipated times of the year as this day is made especially for them. It is a sort of break from the busy world of print media. It is that time of the year where all employees from various departments meet and make memories through fun games and good food.

For this year, SunStar Davao had its annual Employees’ Day in Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos), Davao del Norte. The company took its work force to an island hopping in Vanishing Island and Canibad, a less crowded route compared to Talikud, Samal Island Hopping.

With an early call time at Sta. Ana Pier, employees with their summer outfits assembled around 6:30 a.m. last May 4, 2019. The exclusive boat left the city around 7:30 a.m. The activity started with a short orientation by the tour operator and followed by a prayer. Afterwards, SunStar Davao general manager Tessie Me Alcoriza delivered her opening remarks which was focused on recognizing the employees for a job well done and a motivation to a better year ahead for the company.

Fun games were played by participative employees who were divided into two groups. Some of the games were Sack Race, Picture Whisper, Longest Line, Pinoy Henyo, and Water Relay, among others.

The games not only allowed employees to bring home cash prizes but also developed values of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and strategic thinking.

This activity, which was also organized in time for the Labor Day celebration, also recognized the company’s top performing employees, an inspiration to all to do better in the work that they do.

SunStar Davao regularly made this activity as a way to say thank you to all the efforts and contribution employees made for the company and for its people to truly experience SunStar.
