DAVAO City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag remains the acting mayor until May 30 as mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is on leave.

Last May 21, the mayor issued a memorandum to designate Al-ag as acting mayor from May 23 to 30.

"As such you shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the said position as mandated by law and oversee the over-all operations of all city government departments/offices and perform other duties, as such mandated by law," the order read.

Al-ag being acting mayor was present in last Friday's Davao River Bridge widening inauguration led by President Rodrigo Duterte.

SunStar Davao tried to contact Davao City Information Office to confirm whether the reason of the city mayor's leave of absence is due to an official business, but as of three in the afternoon yesterday, the office was not able to get a reply. (KVC)
