AUTHORITIES are on heightened alert to prevent individuals from delivering illegal drugs in Davao region to discredit President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign on illegal drugs.

PDEA-11 Assistant Regional Director Behn Joseph O. Tesiorna said Davao City might be the target place of the President’s enemies to plant illegal drugs to appear that these are prevalent in his hometown.

“There might be possibility na silay pagawson nga delivery na intentionally na they will make a sort of discovery of illegal drugs in Davao region just to put Davao Region in a bad light and the President especially nga taga diri ang Presidente,” Tesiorna said.

Thus, they are coordinating with other law enforcers to prevent illegal drugs from getting inside the Davao region. They are expecting that it will be via Davao waters or the Bureau of Customs anytime within the election period. Thus, they are doubling their efforts to counter this possible plan.

“We are doing everything in our power to prevent or preempt any plans nga ing-ani kay ang trending man gud ron, dinaghan na ang discovery ron (this has been the trend) in Mindanao, Visayas, Luzon. We are expecting, anytime, mubuto pod na diri sa (it will reach) Davao which is the reason why we are closely monitoring with the Navy, the Philippine Coast Guard and the PNP maritime group,” Tesiorna added.
