THE Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) reported that it has generated revenues amounting to P65 million in 2018, exceeding its target income of P38.2 million.

DCOTT head Aisa Usop, in an interview Wednesday, January 2, said DCOTT is an income-generating office and the City Treasurers Office (CTO) has reported that DCOTT already breached the P60-million mark as of November 2018 and reached P65 million before 2018 ended.

“Actually naglibog ko asa na kuhaon (I was confused where to get it), considering na we still have the same amenities and facilities. We still have the same number of buses so what I did was, I studied the ordinances in the city,” Usop said.

She added that she discovered that there was no increase on regulatory fees in DCOTT for 10 years and that it was already high time to request for an increase, thus with the amended regulatory fees, DCOTT almost doubled the target for 2018.

“Ang increase sa regulatory fees ang nakapagpa-increase sa income,” she said.

Bus trip ticket was only P50 before and the office proposed a 400% percent increase to P200 which was approved during the amendment in regulatory fees.

Public utility vans (PUVs) were paying only P25 per trip, now it is P75. Stalls also had an increase.

Usop said the target was P24 million in 2016 and P25 million in 2017. It was only in 2018 that the target was set at a much higher amount.

“We are very happy because we reached our target,” she said.
