OH George!, the motel that extended help to the health workers who were evicted from their dormitories, has prepared 13 rooms at their Ecoland branch to house them.

Oh George! spokesperson Zeus dela Fuente said they are open for the nurses as they are the frontliners in fight against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

“Sukad nga nabutyag ni Mayor Sara nga ang Oh George! mihatag og mga rooms sa mga nurses nga frontliners ning Covid-19, mihatag dayon kita og trese (13) ka mga rooms sa atong Ecoland branch (Since Mayor Sara revealed that Oh George! will provide rooms for the nurses who are the frontliners in Covid0-19, we immediately prepared 13 rooms at our Ecoland branch),” Dela Fuente said during a phone interview with Superbalita Davao Tuesday, March 24.

The motel spokesperson added that they will be conducting a preventive measure against the spread of Covid-19 in their rooms.

Dela Fuente also said the nurses and other frontliners in the fight against Covid-19 will be free of charge, however, they need to be recommended city’s Task Force Covid-19.

“Naa nay pito ka mga nurses nga nag-inquire apan gipaadto sa nato sila sa Task Force Covid-19 para ma-guide-dan sila sa ilang pag-stay nga libre dire sa Oh George (There are already seven nurses who inquired but we asked them to go to Task Force Covid-19 first so that they will be guided on how to be able to stay here at Oh George! for free),” he said.

The nurses were allegedly evicted from their dormitory when one of the patients at the hospital they are working allegedly tested positive of Covid-19.

The incident reached Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and she announced during her live interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio last Monday, March 23, that Oh George! has agreed to accommodate the nurses.

The dormitory where the nurses were staying only allowed them to stay until March 30 as it reportedly will undergo temporary closure due to Covid-19.
