Mother, daughter hacked to death

JEALOUSY drove a man to kill his alleged girlfriend and her minor daughter Thursday dawn, November 7, in Purok New Waterfall, Barangay Megcawayan, Calinan District, Davao City. The suspect, identified as Renuel Wabinga Habillo alias Lotlot, 32, farmer, and resident of Purok New Waterfall, Barangay Megkawayan, Calinan District, Davao City, surrendered to authorities on the same day. He is facing two counts of murder for the crime he committed. The victims were identified as farmer Evelyn Saganay Lapera, 40, and her 11-year-old daughter, both residents of Calinan. They sustained deep lacerated wounds in their napes and heads. Based on police investigation, the victims were found bathed in their own blood at 12:45 a.m. of November 7. The suspect admitted to the crime and said he only did it because of extreme jealousy after he saw his alleged girlfriend with another man. He said they had a heated argument hours before he hacked the victims the death. Habillo voluntarily surrendered to Kagawad Rolando Escobar at the official's residence in Bagong Silang, Barangay Megcawayan, Calinan District, Davao City after the incident around 12 p.m. Thursday, November 7.
