Sara to lead Peace 911 launch

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio will lead the launching of the Peace 911 this Thursday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at the Paquibato Elementary School.

The Peace 911, a comprehensive peace building program for Paquibato District, was designed after months of consultations and meetings between members of the communities and the Davao City Davao City Advisory Committee on Peace and Development (DC-Peace Dev).

DC-Peace Dev, started to conduct listening workshops after its creation as an advisory committee, through Executive Order No. 45 Series of 2017.

Based on previous reports DC-Peace Dev member, Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) head Maria Luisa T. Bermudo said the consultations included 14 barangays - 13 from Paquibato and Barangay Dominga, Calinan District.

“It will be participated by farmers association, women sector, youth, Indigenous People and the barangay captains,” Bermudo said.

This committee is a reconstituted version of the Davao City Peace Local Committee (DC-PEACE COM) made to promote, encourage, and facilitate joint, inclusive peacemaking and peacebuilding process in Davao city, primarily with members of the New People's Army (NPA)

Based on reports from the City Information Office (CIO), Peace 911 will have components for agriculture, health, youth, women, security, Indigenous Peoples, and education.
