'Tikbalang' investigated

Orlando B. Dinoy

BANSALAN, Davao del Sur -- After talks on “wakwak,” “sigbin,” “ungo,” it is “tikbalang” this time that the residents are said to have seen in other barangays.

One Mercy, 42, said they saw a “tikbalang,” a Philippine mythical creature that is said to have a human lower torso but with hooves and a horse for a face, in Barangay New Cebu last Thursday evening.

She said the residents were alarmed after their pet dogs barked unceasingly. When they look into the reason why the dogs were barking, they saw the “tikbalang” sped away.

The residents suspected that the “tikbalang” wanted to steal a motorcycle in the area.

The residents were alerted after police authorities warned them that individuals or groups with criminal motives might be using this as a modus to carry out their plans and thus they should always be on alert about these “creatures” at night.
