150 runners eyed in Tubod

SOME 150 participants are expected when the Mindanao Blue Knights Track League Season 5 will get underway on February 22 to 25 at the Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

Organizer Airnel Abarra of the Ateneo de Davao University athletics office bared this during Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao Thursday, February 14.

“Everything is already set for the event. Aside from the track league, there will be free workshops and athletes and coaches forum. A dormitory is provided within the MCC courtesy of Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo,” Abarra said.

Security of participants, according to him, was assured by the provincial government.

Meanwhile, a donor who owns a shoe factory in Valenzuela donated 150 pairs of shoes for the participants and winners.

Delegates will come from Miriam College of Quezon City and San Pedro Poveda Colege of Pasig City as well as from Ateneo de Davao University, Kidapawan City, Misamis Oriental Comprehensive National High School, Xavier University, Isabela City in Basilan, Lanao del Norte, Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology and Mati City.
