3 games in DYBL, Liga Pinay opener

THREE games are on hand when the Davao Youth Basketball League (DYBL) and Liga Pinay 2019 unfurl at 12:15 p.m., today, June 22, at the Gaisano Grand Citimall SkyGym in Davao City.

The simple opening program will have Mindanao Peace Games convenor Noli Ayo and Jr NBA Coach of the Year 2016 Christopher Araneta as guests.

Organizer Rael Diaz of Red Sports Events said one match will be featured in each category in the cagefest opener.

The 1 p.m. curtain raiser pits Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (Dranhs) against Assumption College of Davao (ACD) in the Liga Pinay girls division.

DYBL cadet teams Crossing Bayabas National High School (CBNHS) and Jesus Soriano National High School (JSNHS) will clash against each other at 2:15 p.m. in bracket B while Davao Christian High School collides with Assumption College of Davao (ACD) in the DYBL-Junior category bracket B.

Davao Jones Academy is poised to defend its junior title this year.

A total of 32 teams will compete in DYBL and about 10 squads in Liga Pinay.

The rest of the games after June 22 until September 28 will be held at Margarita Gym at J.P. Laurel Avenue and Mutual Homes Gym in Catitipan.

The league is held in partnership with Diamond Knights.
