DABAWENYO tankers will vie for honors in the 42nd Southeast Asia (SEA) Age Group Swimming Championships slated July 6 to 8 at the Trace College Los Baños in Laguna.

Matthieu Tao, Ivo Nikolai Enot, the Yarra siblings John Martin and Rizbon Martin along with Amoguis sisters, Liaa Margarette and Loa Micah, will form part of Team Philippines in the swimfest that also expects entries from Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Timor-Liste.

“Based sa performance nila sa training nila, may chance naman mag medals ang mga bata. I checked the last year's result sa SEA Age-Group, talagang may chance na maka-finals,” assistant coach Haroon Cali said in a Facebook chat with SunStar Davao Wednesday, June 27.

Last year, Mindanao swimmers failed to qualify.

Cali said they went to train in Manila two weeks ago after having five-day training in Tagum City.

But they regularly train at the Holiday Gym and Spa.

The team will leave for Laguna on Friday. (ABM)
