TEAM Kaizen Davao left a remarkable impression after winning seven gold medals, one silver and three bronzes in the National Inter-School Taekwondo Championships 2018 held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila last September 30.

Cian Filip, Kelvin James Asumbrado, Jenelle Claire Ibag, Heinrich Roberts, Neil Heinz Sevilla, Cyrus Maisip and Lois Neo emerged champion in their respective categories while Macy Dysanco delivered the lone silver for the city.

Jillian Canillo, Alvin Ibag and Abby Mesiona, however, secured one bronze each in the national event that attracted some 2,000 jins all over the country.

Kelly Lada, Chai Calamba, Love Leanna, Angel Bacamante and Kyle Reyes put up a good fight but were eliminated.

Coach and trainer Anjela Pelaez, a former national team member, however, lauded her jins for exceeding expectations.

“All the hardwork and sacrifices na ginawa ng mga bata sa training nagbunga talaga,” she said, adding that national team members also competed in the tournament.

San Beda College offered scholarships to some of her players. (ABM)
