Y-Speak: Rewind doesn’t exist in real life

Sunnexdesk

THERE is no such thing as rewind in real life. Life is not a movie where we are allowed to repeat what was already played. It is not music we could replay as we like. It is not a recorded video that we can cut and edit for a better result.

Indeed life is full of surprises. We don’t know what will happen in this day or the next day. We don’t know what will happen to our family, to our future and ourselves.

Hence, I always ingrain this in my mind to think before doing something or anything. Because I do not want to feel any regrets. Regret is something that we feel after an unpleasant situation.

I had lots of regrets in life. One of those was when I talked back to my father. Threw unpleasant words and cursed him. He almost had a heart attack that time because of what I did. He did not expect me to do that.

After what had happened, I told myself not to talk back to my parents again.

A lot of what-ifs enter my mind during that time. What if I did not stop throwing him unpleasant words? What if he had a heart attack? What if he dies? Will my mother forgive me for my father’s death?

In life it is important to think before taking an action. Because of that incident, it taught me the lesson to think many times before doing something for there is no replay button in life. I always bear in mind that regret always comes late. (Jessa Mae B. Reston, Usep intern)
