27.25% of Iloilo City eligible population fully vaccinated

ILOILO City has fully vaccinated 143,043 people as of August 28 in an effort to boost people's protection against Covid-19.

This is 27.25 percent of the target 525,000 population to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity against the virus.

The 123,041 who got their first dose are waiting for schedules of second dose, depending on their respective brand's prescribed intervals.

City vaccination teams have even brought the vaccines closer to constituents for easy access and convenience.

Biggest barangays per district have been prioritized for week-long village-based vaccination rollout that started on Monday, August 30.

A total of 4,448 people were vaccinated from San Isidro for Jaro I; Balabago for Jaro II; Baldoza for La Paz; Sto. Rosario, Veterans Village and Concepcion for City Proper I; Estanzuela for City Proper II; Bakhaw for Mandurriao; Boulevard for Molo; Calaparan and Sto. Niño Norte for Arevalo; and Barrio Obrero for Lapuz.

On Tuesday, August 31, target barangays are Sambag for Jaro I; Bito-on for Jaro II; Caingin for La Paz; City Proper I; Tanza Baybay for City Proper II; Bolilao for Mandurriao; San Juan for Molo; Sto. Niño Sur for Arevalo and Mansaya for Lapuz.

Other barangays for succeeding schedules are Ungka and Cubay for Jaro, Rizal Pala-pala I and II and Bonifacio for City Proper, and Taft North for Mandurriao. (PR)
