KALIBO, Aklan -- The Department of Health (DOH) has provided 1,500 drug testing kits to the administration of the Aklan State University (ASU).

Ramel Buncalan, president of the Aklan Baghay (Bagong Buhay) Incorporated, said they welcome the initiative in making the ASU a drug-free state university.

The program implementation is supported by the Association of the Municipal Health Offices of the Philippines, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Provincial Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development (PAC-PTD), and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

Recently, the Aklan Baghay Inc. signed a memorandum of agreement with the ASU for the partnership.

Lawyer Flosemer Chris Gonzales, vice-chairman of PAC-PTD said their partnership with the ASU aims to make the university a drug-free institution.

The ASU will now be the one to decide on the distribution of the drug testing kits to its faculty and students. (Jun N. Aguirre)
