RESIDENTS of Boracay Island could enjoy the beaches on June 24, the feast day of St. John the Baptist.

Acting Malay Mayor Floribar Bautista said this is what they discussed during a meeting with members of the Malay Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19.

"However, health protocols should still have to be maintained. This includes a mandatory registration before swimming. Children below 21 years old and senior citizens are not allowed to go swimming," he said.

Bringing of food and drinks at the beach is also prohibited, he added.

Boracay, for several years, has been celebrating the St. John the Baptist's feast.

Swimming in public beaches has been prohibited in other areas that are under community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease pandemic. (SunStar Philippines)
