Iloilo gives P2.7-M aid to quake-hit LGUs in Mindanao

THE Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) approved on Wednesday, November 6, a total of P2.7-million financial assistance to nine hardest-hit local government units (LGUs) struck by series of earthquake in Mindanao.

Each beneficiary LGU will receive cash aid of P300,000. These are Kidapawan City and towns of Makilala, Tulunan and M’lang in North Cotabato; and Digos City and towns of Bansalan, Matanao, Magsaysay, and Kiblawan in Davao del Sur.

Mayor Jerry Treñas, who is also CDRRMC chair, presided over the meeting to extend help to those badly affected.

City Hall is also pooling donations of food packs and non-food items such as jerry cans, blankets, hygiene kits and tents to be transported by the Philippine Coast Guard. (PR)
