MOST Rev. Midyphil B. Billones, D.D., was ordained as bishop Tuesday, August 27, in Jaro, Iloilo.

The Episcopal ordination was done as Billones was appointed by Pope Francis last July 16 as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Cebu.

As auxiliary bishop, Billones will assist Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma in running the Cebu Archdiocese, which according to the CBCP News is "the largest archdiocese in the country and in Asia, having the most number of Catholics, priests, religious and seminarians."

The ordination, which was held at the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral Tuesday, August 27, was attended by officials of the Catholic Church, including Palma, Most Reverend Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle and Jaro Archbishop Jose Romeo Lazo.
