KALIBO Vice Mayor Cynthia Dela Cruz urged residents of the town to brace for the new normal, saying the fight against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) may still take time.

Dela Cruz said members of the Municipal Council have already been oriented on the new normal, which includes the practice of social distancing and the use of face masks. People who will be going to the Municipal Council office are also encouraged to observe the same.

"We also advised our clients to limit physical contacts to any persons. If needed to, physical contact should be less than 15 minutes and at the minimum distance of at least one meter," Dela Cruz said.

Dela Cruz has urged several business establishments in Kalibo to put up free public handwashing facilities all over major places in the town, such as the public market, shopping center, and public parks, among others.

"We also thanked the Kool Earth, an environment group in Kalibo, for facilitating our call for more free handwashing facilities in Kalibo," she said. (SunStar Philippines)
