Online modules, lesson plans eyed

THE Iloilo City Government is eyeing the provision of online modules and lesson plans to improve the conduct of virtual classes in the metropolis.

Mayor Jerry Treñas's Special Assistant Maria Mathilde Octavio said they already started discussing the initiative.

"We had a meeting about a provider that can help in the creation of modules and lesson plans online. It was mentioned by the mayor that it is also better for every barangay to get connected and offer wi-fi to residents in need," Octavio said.

"This will be for students without internet, so I think we will look into it as an option. If we can get it installed, and if the barangays can shoulder the monthly fee, then it will benefit the students," she added.

Octavio noted a fiber optics connection costs some P2,500 a month. (PR)
