Sea mishap survivors get cash aid from City Government

THE Iloilo City Government gave a total of P485,000 financial assistance to families of casualties and survivors of the sea mishap involving three motorized bancas that sank in Iloilo-Guimaras Strait on August 3.

Families of five casualties who were city residents received P50,000 each, while families of fatalities not from Iloilo received P10,000 each.

Fifteen survivors received P5,000 each.

Mayor Jerry Treñas said the support would provide relief and help victims recover from the disaster.

The City Hall completed the distribution of assistance Tuesday, August 13. The distribution started on August 6, three days after the tragedy.
