THE number of people who have recovered from coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has climbed to 2,217,611 as the Department of Health (DOH) reported Wednesday 24,059 additional recoveries.

In its 5 p.m. September 22 bulletin, the DOH said 91.7 percent of the total confirmed cases in the country have beaten the virus.

The number of confirmed cases, however, continued to increase with 15,592 more infections logged Wednesday, September 22. The new cases brought the active Covid-19 case count to 162,580 (6.7 percent).

The death toll also rose to 37,228 with 154 mortalities logged by the DOH.

All the Covid-19 laboratories in the Philippines were operations on September 20, but four failed to submit data, added the DOH.

Based on the data in the past 14 days, the four laboratories that failed to report test results contributed more or less 0.3 percent of all the samples tested and 0.3 percent of all the individuals who tested positive for the virus. (LMY)
