SIX campaign volunteers of the Liberal Party (LP) were killed in a road accident in Baguio City on Wednesday, April 24.

In a social media post, Senator and LP president Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan identified the victims as Julia Labi, Adelina Agsaoay, Elizabeth Panes, Richelda Abigar, Josephine Ag-a and John Roy Passi.

They were on the campaign trail for local LP candidates Jo Molintas and former congressman Nic Aliping when the public utility jeepney (PUJ) that they had taken crashed.

Pangilinan said 20 other people were hurt.

The campaign period for local and congressional candidates will run until May 11, two days before the mid-term elections on May 13. (SunStar Philippines)
