Another Pfizer vaccine shipment arrives

THE Philippines has taken delivery of another batch of government-procured coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines from Pfizer.

The shipment containing 813,150 doses of the Pfizer mRNA vaccine arrived Wednesday evening, August 11, 2021.

National Task Force Against Covid-19 chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. said the newly arrived vaccines will be deployed in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Ilocos, Iloilo, Cebu and Davao.

These areas are experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases.

The Philippines has now taken delivery of 4,223,700 doses of Pfizer vaccines.

Including the other vaccines, a total of 39,515,350 doses have been delivered to the country. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo / SunStar Philippines)
