FORMER senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, presidential and vice-presidential aspirants, respectively, confirmed late Tuesday evening, November 16, 2021, their team-up for the 2022 national elections.

In a statement, Marcos and Carpio both seek the people’s support for their tandem that aims to continue and expand the programs of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

(Mayor Inday Sara Duterte and I have made all the necessary procedures for the tandem that all our supporters are yearning for -- the BBM-Sara for 2022.)

(I am one with Inday Sara when she said we all share the same dream... a solid, peaceful and progressive country.)

Marcos is running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas while Carpio is the vice-presidential nominee of the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).

In a video message, Duterte-Carpio said the Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) faction chaired by her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, denied her appeal for support.

(The appeal was denied by PDP and we understand it.)

(I just want to be clear -- no name is slandered or defiled, no one is abused, no one is aggrieved, fought, cried or oppressed.)

Duterte and his former long-time aide Senator Christopher “Bong” Go are running for senator and president, respectively, under Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS).

Go initially filed his certificate of candidacy for the vice president position under the PDP-Laban party.

Duterte earlier said he would not support Marcos’ candidacy because he was a son of a dictator.
