Defense chief says terrorists include Egyptian, Asians

DEFENSE Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Thursday, July 25, revealed that they have determined the nationalities of the foreign terrorists who have arrived in the country.

Lorenzana, however, declined to divulge their identities except they they are Egyptian, Malaysian, Indonesian and Singaporean.

The seven terrorists have allegedly joined the Abu Sayyaf Group led by Hatib Hadjan Sawadjaan.

Lorenzana said they were being monitored by the military.

On Wednesday, July 24, Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) Commander Cirilito Sobejana said they beefed up security measures after they received intelligence information that foreign terrorists have entered the country.

He said these terrorists were training local terrorists on how to make bombs. (SunStar Philippines)
