Former Camarines Sur lawmaker Nonoy Andaya dies

FORMER Camarines Sur congressman Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, his family announced.

“With deep grief and sadness, we announce the untimely death of our father, former member of the House of Representatives, Rolando ‘Nonoy’ G. Andaya Jr., this morning, June 30, 2022,” his children, Ranton and Katrina said in a Facebook post.

“We request for your fervent prayers for his eternal repose, and to allow us, his family, to grieve privately our loss,” the family added.

In a report, police said Andaya was found dead inside his room in their residence in Naga City.

Andaya served as Camarines Sur First District representative in 1998 to 2006 and 2010 to 2019.

He was the budget secretary from 2006 to 2010, under then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
