POLICE have arrested a high school teacher in Quezon City who was accused of sexually harassing one of his students, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-kidnapping Group (AKG) said on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Ramil Renegado Gara was arrested in Barangay Baesa on Saturday, April 17, 2021, based on an arrest warrant issued by the Caloocan City Regional Trial Court Branch 121 for the crime of rape.

Police said the warrant was issued based on a complaint filed by a student identified as Lulu (not her real name).

Lulu claimed that when she was 18 years old and in Grade 12, Gara threatened to give her a failing grade if she does not give in to his sexual advances.

Gara is in temporary custody at AKG for documentation prior to the return of the warrant to the issuing court. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo / SunStar Philippines)
