M6.3 quake shakes parts of Mindanao

A MAGNITUDE 6.3 tectonic earthquake struck near Magsaysay, Davao del Sur at 12:23 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Damage and aftershocks were expected, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in an advisory.

The quake occurred at a depth of 15 kilometers southeast of Magsaysay.

It was felt at Intensity V in Kidapawan City.

Phivolcs instruments also detected the quake at Intensity V in Koronadal City, South Cotobato.

Other areas that felt the quake based on instrumental intensity:

Intensity IV - Alabel and Kiamba, Sarangani; General Santos City, South Cotabato

Intensity II - Cagayan de Oro and Gingoog, Misamis Oriental

Intensity I - Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental
