A LAGUNA policeman with alleged involvement in illegal drugs was killed Friday morning, February 1, in a drug bust.

The Laguna Provincial Police Office identified the slain suspect as Police Officer 3 Jennyson Serrano, currently assigned at the Laguna provincial office.

Serrano was killed in a drug bust conducted by drug operatives in Sitio Ilang-ilang, Barangay Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Police said a poseur buyer was able to buy P7,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) from the suspect.

A gunfight ensued during the operation after Serrano sensed that he was dealing with police personnel.

“The neutralization of the said suspect is the result of report of concerned citizen and a thorough validation in support to the anti-illegal drug operation of the PNP,” the police said.

Recovered from Serrano were P350,000 worth of illegal drugs and his service firearm. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
