Over 3.5M doses of Sinovac, AstraZeneca vaccines arrive

THE Philippines received its biggest single delivery of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), with the arrival Thursday, August 19, 2021, of three million doses of the Sinovac inactivated vaccine.

The government also took delivery of 582,500 doses of the AstraZeneca viral vector vaccine Friday morning, August 20.

These latest shipments brought the total volume delivered to the Philippines to over 46 million doses.

A total of 25.5 million doses of Sinovac vaccines have now been delivered to the Philippines.

Of these doses, 23,600,000 were procured by the national government, 900,000 were purchased by a local government unit and private sector, and one million were donated by the Chinese government.
