A FEMALE police officer has complained that she was raped by her superior at the maritime training center in Puerto Princesa City.

Puerto Princesa City Police Chief Ronnie Cariaga identified the suspect as Police Officer 3 Jernie Languian Ramirez, 29, who is assigned as assistant instructor of maritime trooper course at the joint maritime law enforcement training center in Sitio Magarwak, Barangay Santa Lourdes.

Carriaga said that according to the victim, who has a rank of Police Officer 1, she and her companion were rendering their duty as sentinels around 2:30 a.m. of November 12 when Ramirez approached them and asked her to rove around the training center with him.

While patrolling, Ramirez pushed the victim to the dark portion of the female comfort room and forcibly kissed her.

The victim said she was threatened by Ramirez before she was brought to a vacant room at the second floor of an old building where she was raped.

Carriaga said that around 5:45 p.m., the victim reported the incident to her superior, who then accompanied her when she informed their course director about the incident.

The suspect was arrested by his fellow cops. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
