Tarlac cop dismissed from service

THE policeman who shot and killed Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank Anthony was dismissed from the service effective Monday, January 11, 2021.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Debold Sinas said police officer Jonel Nuezca was dismissed after he was found guilty of two counts of grave misconduct and two counts of conduct unbecoming of a police officer.

Nuezca, who was assigned at the Parañaque City Crime Laboratory, shot the Gregorio mother and son during an altercation in Paniqui, Tarlac on December 20, 2020.

He has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder.
