Village chief gunned down in Batangas

A VILLAGE chief was gunned down by unidentified motorcycle-riding men in San Jose, Batangas Monday, May 21, Police Regional Office 4 (Calabarzon) director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said.

Eleazar said Barangay Buso-buso chairman Demetrio Mendoza Deomampo was shot dead while alighting from his vehicle around 8:25 a.m. in Barangay Pinagtung-ulan in the said town.

He said the assailants were on board a black motorcycle. A caliber .45 pistol was used against the victim. The assailants fled towards Lipa City.
