ONE of the four children of the couple killed in a multiple-vehicle collision in Bago City Sunday night, February 15, also perished at the hospital Monday.

Anica Boncalon, 11, died around lunch time due to multiple injuries, said Superintendent David Cachumbo Jr., city police chief.

Her parents, Henry and Cherrie, died on the way to the hospital, while her siblings -- Karen, 14; Herlen, 10; and Cyrus, 7 -- are still confined at the hospital, along with their cousin, Hernamie, 15.

The Boncalons are residents of Barangay Busay.

A police report showed that the Nissan Sentra driven by Jimmerjade Obsella, 27, of Barangay Bata, Bacolod City, tried to overtake a tricycle but hit its rear portion instead while driving through Crossing Kamatis, Barangay Sampinit.

The tricycle, driven by Alan Kang, then collided with another tricycle, boarded by the couple and their children.

Kang’s passenger, Sherryl Castillo, 17, of Barangay Taloc, was also injured.

Cachumbo said that Obsella was released from police custody Monday night, February 15, after the 18-hour reglementary period for the filing of charges lapsed.

He said the victims’ family may settle the case with Obsella.
